Osaka Map: Every Sight on This Site, Numbered and Priced
This Osaka map holds every place this Osaka city guide covers, numbered in the order the things to do list uses, with each pin carrying the official adult price and a link to the page that explains it. Twenty-seven pins: the paid sights, the streets and markets that cost nothing, the five districts, and the two places outside the city that still make a half day. Coordinates are the venues' own where they publish one — most of Osaka's do not, and the note under the map says which are ours.
Quick answer What the pins mean, how the city is laid out, in three lines
Osaka runs north to south along one subway line. Kita, around Umeda station, is the transport half; Minami, around Namba, is the eating half; and the Midosuji Line connects them in nine minutes for $1.50 (¥240). Everything on this map sits within about 40 minutes of either end, except Minoh and the Cup Noodles Museum, which are Hankyu rides to the north.
Key takeaways
- The castle, the aquarium and Universal are the three pins that need a plan around them; the rest fit around what is open — what is open on which day
- Eleven of the twenty-seven pins cost nothing to enter, and they include the two things people photograph most: Dotonbori and Kuromon Ichiba
- If you are choosing a base rather than a day, the district pins are the ones to read: where to stay in Osaka compares them by what your evening looks like

Pin positions are each venue's own published coordinate where one exists; the five district pins and the Museum of History are placed on their main station, because neither the districts nor the museum publishes a point. Prices are the official adult gate figures read on in Q3 2026, converted at ¥1,000 ≈ $6.27 (European Central Bank reference rate). Where a venue publishes no fee at all — Sumiyoshi Taisha and Namba Yasaka among them — the pin says so rather than calling it free.
Questions about the map
How is Osaka laid out?
As a north–south spine. Kita (Umeda) at the top, Minami (Namba, Dotonbori, Shinsaibashi) in the middle, Tennoji and Shinsekai at the bottom, and the bay to the west with the aquarium and Universal on it. The Midosuji Line runs the length of that spine, which is why almost every hotel recommendation on this site sits on it — the reasoning is on where to stay.
Which pins are outside the city?
Two: the Cup Noodles Museum in Ikeda and Minoh Falls, both on the Hankyu line north of Umeda and both a half day at most. The full day trips — Kyoto, Nara, Kobe, Himeji, Koyasan — are on the day trips page, not on this map.
Do these prices include the tourist passes?
No. Every price here is the venue's own gate figure. Whether a pass beats them depends on how many you do in a day, and that arithmetic is on the Osaka Amazing Pass page — its standard version is $21.90 (¥3,500) for one day, and it covers neither the aquarium nor Universal.
Why do some pins say no fee published instead of free?
Because that is what the venue's own site says — or rather, does not say. Sumiyoshi Taisha publishes gate times and prayer fees but never an admission charge, and Namba Yasaka publishes an address and a phone number and nothing else. Printing "free" would be our guess, not their statement.
Is there an official Osaka tourist map?
The Osaka Convention and Tourism Bureau publishes area maps at osaka-info.jp and hands out paper ones at the three tourist information centres — JR Osaka, Shin-Osaka and Nankai Namba. This map is not theirs: it holds only what this guide has priced and dated, which is a shorter and more opinionated list.
